Environmental Sustainability

ISO 14001:2015

In 2016, Mondodelvino obtained the ISO 14001:2015 certification, an international standard that establishes the requirements for an environmental management system. This certification will help us in improving our environmental performance through more efficient practices, taking into consideration all the aspects related to our overall general operation as well as important issues concerning air pollution, water treatment, waste management, packaging, transportation, and efficiency.

OEF – Organization Environmental Footprint

We follow a scientific approach to measure and improve our environmental pressure. With this approach we aim to reduce the environmental impact in order to promote a circular system.
Our R&D team is an integral part of making our green business objectives a reality.

The dedicated team have formulated a program which uses the environmental footprint based on LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) as a method of measuring the environmental performance of our entire production and marketing of our wines. With these tools we can measure our PEF (Product Environmental Footprint) and our OEF (Organization Environmental Footprint).

MDV is one of the few companies using this method which is recommended by the European Commission.

We are measuring the environmental footprint of our wineries and the entire organization of our products. The OEF results for MDV says that energy consumption, grape cycle and packaging production are our main hotspots.

CSR – Corporate Social Responsibility

SA8000:2014

In 2017 our Group obtained the certification standard, SA 8000:2014. The international certification standard, SA 8000:2014 covers all the companies that fall under Mondodelvino SpA.

This SA8000:2014 measures social performance in eight areas important to social accountability in workplaces, anchored by a management system element that drives continuous improvement in all areas of the Standard

Our goal is to offer our customers a great, safe and fair product.

BSCI COMPLIANCE

Our group has adopted the SA8000 certification standard in order to indisputably comply with the BSCI code of conduct. This standard allows guarantees that our group acts in respect not only of the mandatory legally required standards, but also supporting all the world’s most modern CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) standards.

As of today we have no news of any other Italian wine producer being certified in this standard.

It may seem like a dry string of numbers, but it represents a real commitment to a safe and healthy working environment, on such parameters as child labour, forced or compulsory labour, health and safety, freedom of association and right to collective bargaining; discrimination; disciplinary practices; working hours; remuneration; and management system.
